Man Who Hacked Florida Elections Site Charged with Crimes

Computer security professional David Levin gained unauthorized access to Florida elections website in early 2016. He brought the vulnerabilities to the attention of Dan Sinclair, who was running to replace the supervisor of elections. They released this video (after alerting elections officials and giving them time to fix the problems):

Levin and Sinclair say they received confirmation from Lee County officials that no voter or election information had been compromised. Yet no good deed goes unpunished: Criminal charges were filed this week against Levin.
